Pension Schemes: All contracted members of staff will be automatically enrolled into a career-average pension scheme with either the Teachers’ Pension Scheme or the Local Government Pension Scheme. All staff are entitled to opt-out of the pension scheme should they wish to do so.

Emotional, Financial and Legal Support: Staff have free access to BHSF Rise, a first-class employee assistance programme that supports their overall wellbeing and offers financial and legal advice. The service includes a wellbeing portal with resources for a healthy lifestyle along with access to MyMindPal, an online mental fitness tool. Additionally, there is access to Comprehensive care and special needs support services provided by Grace Consulting, psychological assessment and complex cases and online resources including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy workbooks.

Mental Health First Aiders: We have a qualified Mental Health First Aider (MHFA) in School offering support to anyone with a developing mental health issue or in mental health crisis. Mental Health First Aiders are trained to spot the early signs of poor mental health, including warning signs of other common mental health conditions. They know how to offer and provide initial help as well as provide guidance towards appropriate treatment and other sources of support.

Access to Staff Wellbeing Hub: Our Staff Wellbeing Hub has information regarding health & wellbeing support services available to all staff. The Hub includes information about signposting, Mental Health awareness, online learning, toolkits, workshops, guidance information and more.

24/7 GP Access: Staff have free access to a GP through video/telephone calls for themselves and their families through BHSF RISE.

Occupational Health Support: Staff have access to Occupational Health Support including physiotherapy via our chosen provider.

Cycle to Work Scheme: Employees can access to Sandwell MBC’s Cycle to Work for bike purchases, save on bicycles and safety equipment.

Free Headspace App: Staff have a free subscription to Headspace. Headspace is a science-backed app looking at mindfulness and meditation, providing unique tools and resources to help reduce stress, build resilience, and aid better sleep.

Staff Voice Committee: Our Staff Voice Committee meets with the Head Teacher twice each term to discuss issues raised by the staff team and arranges social events throughout the academic year.

Onsite Dining Hall and Refreshments: Staff have a free breakfast on Wellbeing Wednesdays. Staff have access to an affordable onsite canteen. Free tea and coffee are available in our staff room.
