Helping your child at home

We feel that you can really make a difference to your child’s academic progress and we are keen to support parents in doing this. Below are links to videos and websites where you can practically help your child at home, while at the same time developing their speech, language, communication, numeracy and literacy skills.  If you need any further support, please speak to your child’s class teacher.

  • Afasic – Afasic is the UK charity representing children and young people with speech, language and communication. The Website has a range of information including simple advice sheets.

  • Makaton – Makaton signing is use throughout early years education and is especially valuable for children who have speech and language difficulties. The website has free downloads of seasonal signs. (Free downloads are also available from the Makaton Facebook Page
