Dear Parents/Carers

We have been made aware that there have been positive cases of COVID confirmed within transport routes 1 and 6 and within Rowley Class.

We have been in close contact with Public Health Sandwell and they have confirmed at this stage, there is no requirement for all pupils or staff who have been in contact with those testing positive to self-isolate in line with the updated Government guidelines.

However, we would ask parents to keep a close eye on their children to monitor for any of the following symptoms:

  • a high temperature
  • a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours
  • a loss or change to sense of smell or taste

If your child was previously recognised as clinically vulnerable and advised to shield, you may wish to contact your doctor or consultant to obtain advice as to the best course of action to follow.

We would recommend that all pupils undertake a lateral flow test twice a week, although we appreciate that some of our young people may have difficulties with this.

If your child develops any of these symptoms, please do not send them in to school as they must self-isolate and arrange a PCR test (https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/testing/get-tested-for-coronavirus/).

If queries or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the School.

Yours faithfully

O M Flowers
Head Teacher
