Message from the Chair of Governors

My name is Ken Ellis and I am very proud to be the elected Chair of Governors for The Westminster School.  I have worked in Sandwell for just over 14 years, and spent the first 10 of these as Head Teacher of Wodensborough.  I was born in London and came to study and train to be a teacher in the mid 1970s and have remained ever since.  My drive and passion is to ensure that we provide the very best education and support for our pupils, ie your children, so that they will enjoy successful and fulfilling futures.  It was thanks to my parents, Comprehensive School teachers and Governors that I was given the chance to do so.  I believe that this background has given me the drive, knowledge and skills to be an effective Chair of Governors at Westminster.

We have an excellent team of Governors.  They regularly visit the School and each member gives up their time freely to support the School and its pupils. Collectively they possess the skills, drive and experience to ensure that the School, its pupils and staff continually improve.  They have an excellent working relationship with the Head Teacher and her leadership team, and regularly meet to offer support and challenge to them.  Our number one aim is for The Westminster School to be Outstanding in every way.

If you wish to contact me please leave a message at the School and I will respond as soon as possible.

I look forward to meeting you in person at School events.

Ken Ellis
