Message from the Chair of Governors

My name is Sue Gough and I am very proud to be the elected Chair of Governors for The Westminster School.  I have worked in Sandwell/Walsall for over 25 years in various roles including as a Special Needs Careers Adviser, SEND Extended Services Manager and Sandwell Parent Partnership Adviser, many parents may have met me in my previous roles. I am also parent of a child (now an adult) who has SEND. I feel this background has given me the drive, knowledge, empathy and skills to be an effective Chair of Governors at The Westminster School.

My aim and mission is to ensure that as Governors, we support the school so they can provide the very best education and support for all our pupils, so that they will enjoy successful and fulfilling futures.

We have an excellent team of Governors.  They regularly visit the School and each member gives up their time freely to support the School and its pupils. Collectively they possess the skills, drive and experience to ensure that the School, its pupils and staff continually improve.  They have an excellent working relationship with the Head Teacher and her leadership team, and regularly meet to offer support and challenge to them.  Our number one aim is for The Westminster School to be Outstanding in every way.

If you wish to contact me, please leave a message at the School and I will respond as soon as possible.

I look forward to meeting you in person at School events.

Sue Gough
